On Friday, the 30th of January 2026, the HeritACT project organised an OPEN NEB DAY hybrid event. PALIMPSEST attended the event and shared interesting project insights through two exceptional partners:

  • Irene Bianchi, from the Politecnico di Milano, participated in the NEB Value: Aesthetics roundtable, which tackled how beauty, creativity and cultural expression can help heritage spaces become places where people return to, not just visit once. The Aesthetics Roundtable focused on heritage-driven placemaking, memory, multisensory design and the ethics of aesthetics.
  • María Vitaller del Olmo, from the Service Design Lab of Aalborg University Copenhagen, took part in the NEB Value: Inclusion roundtable, which tackled what inclusive heritage looks like in practice, and who is still being left out. The Inclusion Roundtable explored participation, accessibility and community-led design as core mechanisms for reactivating heritage spaces in fair and meaningful ways.
