On Thursday, November 13th, the Lambrogino Prize and IMMACCHINARIUM were presented within the framework of the Contratti di Fiume working day, among a wide constellation of actors dedicated to the Lambro River ecosystem. Prof. Grazia Concilio, coordinator of PALIMPSEST, situated the prize within the project’s broader vision: to trigger and acknowledge virtuous environmental practices that see the Lambro as a living being to be cared for through shared responsibility and creative alliances.

The day unfolded in the magnificent setting of Villa Borromeo d’Adda, where the “impossible machine” by gethan&myles — installed beneath the Liberty canopy — served as a poetic call to rethink sustainability from what already exists, transforming the seemingly impossible into opportunities for new ecological and social ties through gradual, interconnected actions.

An informal invitation was then extended to municipalities and organisations to suggest associative practices combining artistic creativity and sustainable environmental initiatives around the Lambro. After lunch, an open conversation took place around the three artistic proposals from Legambiente Monza, Cascina Biblioteca, and Osservatorio Lambro Lucente, shared through dedicated panels.

The event was particularly meaningful thanks to the presence and contributions of the curator Stefano Beghi (Karakorum Teatro), ERSAF – Dario Kian Daniela Masotti, Francesca Squadrelli and the PALIMPSEST coordination and research team of Politecnico di Milano.

For PALIMPSEST, these exchanges were invaluable: not only to disseminate the ongoing progress of IMMACCHINARIUM, but above all to continue co-creating it with local communities and territorial actors, nurturing long-term collaborations along the Lambro River.
