On the 5th of December 2025, the Jerez School of Art hosted an opening session where the Ceuta students presented their research on Ceuta’s green memory to faculty and students from higher education programs. Their work was inspired by initiatives such as the SONE project of the landscape pilot of Jerez and Luces de Barrio (Seville) and guided by the figure of the medieval Ceutan geographer and traveler Al-Idrisi , whose “lost book,” “ The Gardens of Humanity,” served as a creative metaphor for reconstructing how Ceuta’s cultural and ecological landscapes might have been narrated throughout the centuries.
