PALIMPSEST project proudly announces the initiation and signing outcomes of a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that sets the foundation for a new generation of educational and training programs inspired by the vision of the New European Bauhaus (NEB).
This strategic initiative brings together academic institutions, cultural and creative sectors, and community stakeholders to reimagine education through the core NEB values of sustainability, inclusivity, and aesthetic excellence.
A New Chapter for Education and Innovation
The MoU establishes a collaborative European framework where education becomes a living, evolving process—rooted in real-world experimentation and interdisciplinary exchange. By embedding hands-on experiences into curricula, Palimpsest and its partners aim to empower students, educators, and communities to co-create solutions for today’s most pressing societal challenges.
Through this initiative, educational environments will extend beyond classrooms into cultural hubs, living labs, and community spaces, transforming them into active sites of learning, experimentation, and collaboration.
Key Objectives of the Collaboration
The MoU reflects a shared commitment among participants to:
- Develop forward-thinking educational programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, integrating NEB principles and fostering collaboration with Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs).
- Engage students in real-world, multidisciplinary experiences through workshops, creative residencies, and NEB-related events.
- Create a dynamic knowledge exchange network, promoting best practices in co-creation and sustainability transitions.
- Establish and strengthen cultural hubs as long-term spaces for innovation, learning, and societal engagement.
- Advance policy innovation, using educational experimentation as a foundation for evidence-based contributions to NEB-related policies.
- Launch a Special Interest Group on Sustainable Design Pedagogies, encouraging focused dialogue and collaboration across institutions and disciplines.
From Vision to Practice
Central to this MoU is the belief that education should not only respond to change, but actively shape it.
