Estelle Jullian, winner of the Open Call “CREATIVE DIALOGUES” presented parts of her project Songs of the Nearby Earth (SONE) at the “MATERIALS & PROCESSES LINA x TUW SYMPOSIUM, EXHIBITION” which took place in Vienna, Austria, on 22 May 2025.
As mentioned in her poster, ” SONE ‚ explores Jerez de la Frontera‘s landscape through art and design, integrating local knowledge, cultural expressions, and emblematic elements like ceramics, viticulture, and music. Inspired by zambombas rituals, it seeks reflection on challenges like climate adaptation and landscape transformation. Creative actions use local materials like albariza and vines, referencing rooted practices. SONE collaborates with communities, exploring their relationship with the landscape. The project proposes a participatory process where local collectives contribute, using the zambomba as an instrument and event, to renaturalization. This encourages reflection and action: intervening in public space through nature-based solutions, leveraging vine trellising traditions as a climatic device”.
